Studies have been done to show that church planters being coached have a higher success rate. Therefore, we encourage planters to be engaged in coaching relationships. We have coaches we can suggest (i.e. Dave McNaughton, Roger Nelmes) or we can direct church planters to the AG Coaching network highlighted to the right. We also provide Virtual Peer Groups for peer to peer support. We can also connect new planters with those who have successfully planted before.

Definition of Coaching utilized by AG Coaching

Coaching is a developed skill set that moves the individual in personal and professional life from current reality to desired outcome through a spirit-led intentional partnership.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching honors the client as the expert in his/her life and work and believes that every client is creative, resourceful, and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:

  • Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve;
  • Encourage client self-discovery;
  • Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies; and
  • Hold the client responsible and accountable.
